Kovu never fell in love with Kiara. Shenzi, Bonzai, and Ed never existed. Scar's progeny, Kovu, killed Simba, and the hyenas that ravaged the Pridelands were forced south across the river, beyond the waterhole. But no one remembers those days. No one knows those stories to tell. What was once the Pridelands is now known as Mnara, and the distinction of Pridelander versus Outlander has long faded into dust. The hyenas of the Mwambula clan are now known as the Uchawi, and have been vying for a place in the green lands north of the river ever since they were driven from it.

Lion and hyena. Not only competing against one another, but each competing within themselves for supremacy, dominance, and the power to pass on their lineage.
